These common ancestors lived centuries apart from one another and only represent 2 lines of ancestry. We each have myriad lines of ancestry and are in fact descended from "many" and not two. There is truly no basis to say "The bible was right on this one". That said, we are still all something like 40th cousins, so the general point still stands.
