#OccupyWallStreet Is More Than a Hashtag - It's Revolution in Formation | Truthout

A lot of what you've probably seen or read about the #occupywallstreet action is wrong, especially if you're getting it on the Internet. The action started as an idea posted online and word about it then spread and is still spreading, online. But what makes it really matter now is precisely that it is happening offline, in a physical, public space, live and in person. That's where the occupiers are assembling the rudiments of a movement.  link

Swedish Daycare Centers Use GPS to Track Children

Daycare centers in Sweden have started using GPS systems and other electronic tracking devices to keep tabs on children during excursions — a practice that has raised ethical and practical questions.
Some parents are worried day care centers will use the technology to replace staff. Others wonder whether getting children used to being under surveillance could affect their idea of privacy when they grow older.
Monica Blank-Hedqvist, the principal of a daycare center in the city of Borlange told The Associated Press Wednesday her staff have been using such devices during supervised walks in the forest: the kids wear vests with transmitters that staff can track on a screen.   Link

If Your Pee Stinks, You’re Dehydrated!

We are born of the water. Our muscles that move our body are 75% water. Our blood that transports nutrients is 82% water. Our lungs that provide us with oxygen are 90% water. Our brain is 76% water and even our bones are 25% water. Water covers 70% of our planet and is vital for all life on Earth. There’s a reason why we’re drawn to the ocean, lakes and rivers. Beyond the subconscious reasons, lurks the simple need for our survival. A person deprived of water will die in 60 to 80 hours.
If you do not supply enough water to your body, your brain cannot function well. It is apparent when you see the majority of idiots who drink soda, frappuccinos and energy drinks all day long, only dehydrating themselves more and contributing to the zombie culture.
Those who suffer from dehydration will feel fatigue and headaches, and an overall disconnected feeling from life, even depression and hunger. So before you reach for medication or a Twinkie, ask yourself,”How much water have I had today?”   link

Gamers Decode AIDS Protein

Online gamers have achieved a feat beyond the realm of Second Life or Dungeons and Dragons: they have deciphered the structure of an enzyme of an AIDS-like virus that had thwarted scientists for a decade.   The exploit is published on Sunday in the journal Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, where -- exceptionally in scientific publishing -- both gamers and researchers are honoured as co-authors.    link

Big Sis Tags Coffee Cups With Big Brother Eye

Homeland Security’s See Something, Say Something snitch campaign is now so pervasive that Big Sis has extended the message to coffee cups, recruiting jittery coffee drinkers to spot terrorists as part of a deal with the Maryland Transit Administration, which used DHS funds to purchase the ads.   The message appears on the sleeve of coffee cups and reads, “If you see something, say something…Report unattended bags and unusual behavior to police or transit personnel.”
The image features a Big Brother eye motif above the lettering.  According to a spokesman, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security provided the funds to pay for the ad and the Maryland Transit Administration duly complied. The DHS has partnered with numerous public and private entities, including Wal-Mart and the NFL, to promote its See Something, Say Something the PSA’s for which feature campaign, predominantly white middle class Americans characterized as terrorists engaging in “suspicious behavior” such as talking to police officers or using video cameras.
“Part of the Department of Homeland Security’s guidelines for suspicious behavior include individuals “acting furtively and suspiciously” and “avoiding eye contact.” The side effects of heavy caffeine use include irritability, anxiety, tremulousness and muscle twitching,” reports the Daily Caller.   Link

NASA Elenin 2011 Comet - Planetary Alignments with Comet Elenin Causing Big Earthquakes

There seems to be a pattern forming every time Elenin lines up with Earth and another planet or the sun we have an earthquake, the nearer Elenin gets the bigger the earthquakes.  link
The Elenin will continue intensifying the Earth's very strong seismicity until August-October, 2011. Approximate forecast of earthquakes based on my discoveries is feasible. This demonstration proves my hyperresonator concept, arrived at earlier as a mathematical-physical solution to the most general extension of the georesonator concept possible. Numerous advocacy and citizens’ action groups came together beginning on Saturday to protest the ongoing consolidation of wealth from citizens to corporations, using the backdrop of the financial district to attempt to gain the attention of the national and international news media, located a scant 40 blocks north fo their efforts, but the media blackout continues.   link

Avoiding Artificial Sweeteners? This Study Will Surprise You...

For those of you who are aware of the health dangers posed by artificial sweeteners and dutifully avoid them, the featured study findings may come as a shocking surprise...
Researchers have found that the artificial sweetener sucralose (Splenda) is a widespread contaminant in waste water, surface water, and ground water. In a recent test, water samples from 19 U.S. drinking water treatment plants serving more than 28 million people were analyzed for sucralose. The sweetener was found to be present in:

• The source water of 15 out of 19 of drinking water treatment plants tested
• The finished water of 13 out of 17 plants, and
• In 8 out of 12 water distribution systems

The average amounts of sucralose in source water and finished water was 440 ng/L and 350 ng/L respectively. link

Seismic evidence reveals underground nuclear detonation south of Washington DC.

Seismology charts are now revealing that the 5.8 magnitude tremor that rattled the entire East Coast including Washington DC was not a natural earthquake but an earthquake that resulted from an underground  nuclear detonation.  The image above is a seismograph from Washington and Lee University, (similar one found on www2.tricities.com website) about 85 miles southwest of the earthquake’s epicenter in Mineral.  The green lines indicates the tremor that was felt in Washington DC which caused damaged to the Washington Memorial and the Washington National Cathedral.  The black lines is a transparent overlay of a seismograph from a pdf file from Virginia Division Mineral Resources on Earthquakes. link

Photographs of 60,000-Strong Anti-Nuke Demonstration in Tokyo: Japanese MSMs Called It "A Parade"

Looking at this aerial photographs taken by Mainichi Shinbun (one of the better ones in terms of even coverage on nuke issues in Japan; another is Tokyo Shinbun), it sure looks more than 60,000 to me. People who actually participated in the event seemed to have the same impression as mine (on this blog comment sections, and on twitter), that it was far bigger than official number by the police (30,000).   link

Mysterious 'Booming Sounds' Heard Around World Perplex Scientists

Such dins are not unique to North Carolina or the modern age. People living near Seneca Lake in upstate New York have long known of similar booming sounds, which they called "Seneca guns." In coastal Belgium, they are known as "mistpouffers," or fog belches; in the Ganges delta and the Bay of Bengal, "Bansal guns;" in the Italian Apennines, "brontidi," or thunder-like; and by the Harami people of Shikoku, Japan, "yan."
"What's going on is an interesting challenge, whatever it might be," said seismologist David Hill, scientist emeritus at the U.S. Geological Survey office in Menlo Park, Calif.   link

'Shy' children at risk of being diagnosed with mental disorder

Psychologists say that new guidelines being developed in America will lead more young people seeing their common problems regarded as illnesses that must be treated, rather than just being given support.

They fear that pupils who are quiet at school could be diagnosed with “social anxiety disorder” while those who become withdrawn after suffering a bereavement are classified as having a “depressive disorder”.

Children who just talk back to adults or lose their temper regularly could be diagnosed with “oppositional defiant disorder”.

As a result, those found to have these increasingly broad mental disorders could be prescribed powerful medication such as Prozac or Ritalin to control or alter their behaviour.   link

Government Nuisance Abatement Teams forcing residents to destroy their homes and vacate land

(NaturalNews) Government officials in California are hard at work getting rid of all the "lone rangers" living in Los Angeles County's Antelope Valley. According to a recent report by www.reason.tv, "armed county inspection squads" are regularly raiding the residences of off-the-grid valley dwellers for alleged code violations, only to later demand that such residents completely destroy their homes and vacate their property. link
